GP Recycling is seeking a Forklift Operator/Yard Jockey to work in our Savannah GA facility. This role supports the sustainability efforts of Georgia-Pacific by loading and unloading shipments. We are looking for candidates with a strong commitment to safety. If you have forklift experience, are a safety-oriented person, with computer skills we look forward to hearing from you!
In this role the paperwork process is very manual, and the employee must be able to accurately record numbers and must have a clean, legible handwriting
Shift Hours: 7:00am-4:00pm M-F Flexing up to 6:30am -7:00pm M-F as needed
Weekly Pay!!!
May be required to work on Saturday less than once a quarter
A Day in The Life Typically Includes but is not limited to:
- Safely operating a sit-down lift to load and unload trailers, containers and/or railcars
- Operate Yard Truck to move containers/trailers as required
- Ensuring accurate record keeping for all inbound and outbound shipments
- Working collaboratively with other team members
- Ensuring a safe work environment throughout the facility by removing debris from areas within the warehouse
- Identify issues that potentially effect on-time shipment and customer satisfaction.
- Relabeling product
- Hauling product while driving backwards
- Unload trucks and railcars.
- Flow to the work between loading and unloading as needed
Job Requirements
Other requirements include
- Understand written work instructions and procedures necessary to safely complete daily tasks regarding process operation and control. Maintain written records and logs.
- Verbal skills to communicate with co-workers and contractors/drivers to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate operations.
- Work schedule to include:
- Work on day shift with alternate schedules when business needs dictate.
- Work for periods of up to a full shift (8 hours) with two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch break.
- Work for periods of up to 12 consecutive hours if required.
- Operate Lift Truck with forks and Roll Clamp
- Operate equipment for periods of up to a 12-hour shift.
- Perform clean-up work requiring sweeping, and/or shoveling (up to approx. 30 lbs.) as needed.
- Ability to comprehend and complete all electronic system steps and paperwork required to successfully fulfill the loading/unloading process.
