Encadria Staffing Solutions is actively hiring a Buyer to support Georgia-Pacific on a temporary-to-hire basis. We are seeking a Buyer for our Centralized Procurement team in Atlanta, GA supporting the Towel and Tissue business and the Containerboard and Cellulose business. The Buyer reports to the Centralized Team Purchasing Manager and supports multiple facilities and suppliers or commodities within the centralized team. The individual works with a high sense of urgency and possesses the ability to solve cross-functional problems to meet the needs of internal customers. The Buyer drives and standardizes process improvements and presents innovative solutions to recurring issues. A team player willing to assist in areas outside of their direct responsibility, when necessary.

 

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Quoting, negotiating and purchasing chemicals, materials, equipment, MRO, services and supplies from external vendors
  • Working with requestors to understand requirements, specifications, and timing
  • Executing national, regional, and local contract agreements within facilities
  • Identifying and analyzing opportunities to competitively bid local spend to achieve the lowest total-cost-of-ownership for the facilities
  • Issuing purchase orders through an inventory management system and ensuring delivery dates support the local plant’s needs
  • Resolving accounts payable discrepancies
  • Negotiating contract agreements with external vendors
  • Ensuring adherence to all safety, purchasing, storeroom and environmental policies and procedures; Running small projects for improved service, better pricing, or process improvements; Manages own time to accomplish goals and prioritize a variety of tasks
  • Supporting the Purchasing Manager in centralized activities and facility/business specific projects
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure continuous improvement
  • Able to manage time well, handle and prioritize multiple tasks, and complete them with a strong sense of urgency
  • A strong communicator in both written and verbal forms in order to effectively deal with customers, managers, and co-workers

 

What You Will Need:


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

 

 

What Will Put You Ahead?


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience in Procurement, Operations, Supply Chain or Accounting
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain or logistics
  • Negotiations and contracting experience
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with purchasing/inventory management software
  • CPM/CPSM certification
  • Project execution experience
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP type of systems
