General Laborer - Temporary short-term assignment

$20.00 Per Hour

Encadria Staffing Solutions is hiring General Laborer (Utility Technician) workers for the Georgia Pacific facility in Rocky Creek, Alabama. This role creates value by performing various manual tasks, learning multiple technician functions, housekeeping duties such as sweeping sawdust and keeping the machinery free from debris, and maintaining a clean work environment to meet the facility’s safety and production goals.

A Day in Life Typically Includes:

• Performing housekeeping functions to aid in keeping machinery functioning properly, reducing hazards, and maintaining the appearance of the plant
• General physical labor for lumber mill clean-up and other tasks as needed. Will involve use of hand tools, shovels, wheelbarrows, etc.
• Creating a safe workspace by maintaining cleanliness in assigned area
• Adhering to all safety, health, and plant rules, policies, procedures, and guidelines

Basic Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED
• Six (6) months of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, construction, logging, land management, Farming
• Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, dusty, cold, greasy, and noisy industrial high-volume environment.
• I am willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling for at least 8 to 12 hours a day.
• Willing and able to wear the necessary Personal Protection equipment (PPE) (i.e., hard hats, safety glasses, face shield, chemical suit, respirator, ear plugs, hearing protection, steel-toe boots or safety shoes and other PPE required by specific jobs)
