Janitorial Associate Job Summary: The Janitorial Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment throughout office spaces, restrooms, break rooms, common areas, and general manufacturing areas. This role supports daily operations by performing routine cleaning, sanitation, trash removal, supply restocking, and basic facility upkeep while following company safety procedures and applicable housekeeping standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain assigned office areas, conference rooms, entryways, hallways, restrooms, break rooms, locker rooms, and general manufacturing areas.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, scrub, and dust floors, surfaces, furniture, fixtures, windows, doors, and other high-touch areas.
  • Clean and disinfect restrooms, sinks, toilets, counters, mirrors, partitions, and other sanitary fixtures.
  • Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste in designated areas according to company procedures.
  • Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, toilet paper, trash liners, and other janitorial materials.
  • Perform routine housekeeping in manufacturing areas, including removal of dust, debris, packaging materials, and non-hazardous waste from walkways and work areas.
  • Use cleaning equipment and supplies safely, including vacuums, mops, brooms, carts, floor scrubbers, and approved cleaning chemicals.
  • Identify and report safety hazards, spills, maintenance concerns, damaged equipment, or needed repairs to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Follow all company safety policies, chemical handling instructions, PPE requirements, and housekeeping standards.
  • Maintain janitorial closets, equipment, and supplies in a clean, organized, and secure manner.
  • Assist with special cleaning projects, deep cleaning, or seasonal housekeeping tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain a professional, dependable, and service-focused attitude when interacting with employees, visitors, vendors, and contractors.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or industrial cleaning experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, cleaning schedules, safety procedures, and chemical use guidelines.
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning methods, sanitation practices, and safe use of janitorial tools and supplies.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining clean, safe, and orderly workspaces.
  • Dependable attendance and ability to maintain confidentiality in office and employee areas.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to safely operate basic janitorial equipment and handle cleaning supplies.
  • Ability to work around manufacturing equipment, noise, dust, temperature changes, and other conditions commonly found in general manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, which may include safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, high-visibility clothing, and safety footwear.
Work Environment Work is performed in a combination of office, common-use, restroom, break room, and general manufacturing areas. The employee may be exposed to cleaning chemicals, production noise, moving equipment, dust, and changing temperatures. All work must be performed in accordance with company safety rules, posted signage, and required personal protective equipment guidelines.
