Georgia-Pacific is seeking an experienced Materials Coordinator who will support the Building Products Tacoma (WA) facility . This position provides a high level of communication in completing inventory activities while supporting multiple managers in Shipping, Finance, and Production in a fast-paced recruiting environment. Material Coordinator Job Duties

  • Responsible for electronic receipt management of production materials and supplies into Tacoma and 3PL partners.
  • Conducts inventory counts, both physical and electronic of production materials and supplies at Tacoma and 3PL partners.
  • Responsible for communication with 3PL partners to manage and maintain inventory quantity and integrity.
  • Manages materials release reconciliation for receipts at Tacoma and 3PL partners.
  • Generate reports for improvement initiatives and makes recommendations appropriately to leadership.
  • Ensuring materials stocked are in concert with material management strategy to meet production requirements.
  • Working congruently with Shipping and Finance leadership to ensure material management strategies are aligned.
  • Own and develop strategy for production required supplies establishing min/max and updating accordingly.
  • Implement FIFO process for all materials at facility and maintain with 3PL Partner.
  • Reviewing capabilities for
  • Creating monthly reports for inventory accuracy.
  • Driving improvements in Vendor Managed and Committed Inventory.
  • Managing chargeback and defective item process for facility.
  • Assists with finished good count on monthly basis as needed.
  • Training others on store process and safety requirements.
  • Establish cadence for meeting with applicable vendors and partners.
  • Supporting month-end close
  • Follow, review, and enforce all applicable IFC’s per Finance, Shipping and Finance policies.
  • Generate, receive and close material releases as needed for interplant material transfers.
  • Ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental policies and procedures
  • Leads/serves on teams which solve problems that cross facilities
  • Working to lead improvement initiatives across the supply function.
  • Other duties as prescribed

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least one (3) year of experience in supply chain, operations or maintenance management
  • At least one (2) year of experience in inventory management
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, and have working knowledge of the other Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Willing and able to perform repetitive tasks for up to 8 hours/day (lifting, walking, pushing, pulling, climbing, and/or stooping)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three to five+ years of experience in inventory management  
  • Experience with inventory management software (MP2 preferred)
  • Associate degree or higher
