Pay Rate: $18.75/hr.

Schedule: Full-Time, Rotating Shift (Days and Nights)

Hours: 7AM and 7PM

Duration: Temporary, approx. 6 months or longer

Encadria Staffing Solutions is immediately seeking a Scaler at to support Georgia-Pacific’s Wood Products (OSB Brookneal) facility in Gladys, VA. This position will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Wood Scaling process.

Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Inspect incoming loads to ensure quality wood specifications
• Provide support for ongoing safety and housekeeping processes
• Work with logging contractors and foresters to assist in correcting wood & fiber quality issues
• Receive inbound and outbound trucks utilizing the “WinScale” computerized truck system
• Maintain wood & fiber inventory level information
• Report daily usages and inventories to accounting, wood & fiber supply and mill personnel
• Create and provide reports relative to wood & fiber inventories, deliveries and wood quality

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Intermediate computer skills (inventory management software, MS Office products, etc.)
• Willingness to work overtime beyond standard shift and variable starting times
• Willingness to work weekends/holidays
• Willingness to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations
• Willingness to wear safety equipment, which may include; hard hat, steel toe shoes, safety vest, eye and ear protection, etc.
• Willingness to work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks safely (standing for long periods and working around heavy equipment)
• Willingness to work in a tobacco free environment
