Do you have a passion for social media? Do you enjoy creating graphics and writing in short form? Do you have experience engaging with others in the digital space? We're looking for you – a social media aficionado to help monitor and engage with the online social communities of Georgia-Pacific and our consumer product brands including Angel Soft®, Brawny®, Dixie®, Sparkle®, Quilted Northern® and Vanity Fair Napkins®, and help create original content that showcases who GP is and what we’re all about to employees, the communities we operate in and external audience alike. This role is highly collaborative and will contribute to the Corporate Communications Team. This role is a fit if you’re a great writer at heart who can produce content in tight deadlines and can draw in an audience within 60 seconds or 280 characters. You’ll be a great fit if you can handle high volumes of content, engage and elevate posts quickly, and are able to use insights from content performance metrics to influence new creative. This role is contract work but has flexible room for growth opportunities.



  • Monitor social media accounts and manage communities through replies and comments; look for opportunities to engage as well as areas of improvement


  • Plan and maintain social media calendar, including scheduling and publishing proactive and reactive content


  • Assist with monthly reporting on content performance and help interpret insights


  • Help review and vet Influencers and assist in execution of Influencer campaigns


  • Work collaboratively with everyone from the corporate communications Content Team, the internal social media team, and enable other GP businesses on social
  • Work adeptly in content management systems and other digital creative tools to manage, develop and deploy social promotions that support various GP businesses



This role is:

  • an integral part of the Corporate Communications Team, which is focused on supporting various businesses across GP and building reputation through storytelling and visually engaging content with our audiences. (Team capability includes: social media, public relations, executive communications, HR/employee communications, sustainability communications, sponsorships/marketing)

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • At least 1 year of communications, public relations or journalism experience
  • Superb verbal, written and proofreading skills
  • Experience contributing to or managing social media accounts for a brand or business and working in monitoring tools such as Sprinklr, Social Studio, Facebook Business Manager



  • Experience working in a corporate or non-profit setting or working for clients
  • Adept at using digital editing tools such as Adobe Creative Suite - Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, etc.
  • Proficient in online content management systems such as Workfront
  • Working knowledge of buying ads in the social space
  • Skilled in interpreting social media metrics to measure and influence future content

What to expect with this role

  • Assist in community management of Georgia-Pacific’s corporate and Consumer Product Brand’s social media accounts
  • Working alongside the social media and corporate communications content team to create and deploy social media content for Georgia-Pacific
  • Ability to use design experience to manipulate existing creative and create new photos, gifs and videos from scratch to use on social
